In the "my subscription" screen there is a "remove licence" option, and when you click on it is says that it will downgrade you to AVG Antivirus free, which is what I want.

I downloaded the offline AVG installer for Windows XP using the above link, and installed AVG on my Win XP Pro SP3 system.
